Towards Far East: EU - Vladivostok

Hi to all,

wanna go to Vladivostok starting in Zurich next year April. The route is via Ukraina, RUS, KAZ (Lake Aral), USB, Tadschikistan (Pamir Hwy!!!), north to KAZ again, then visit Mongolia for at least 3 weeks. Next to RUS again and approaching Vladivostok. Maybe back to EU by Transsib Railway or by bike trough RUS. The whole trip will take about 4- 6 month. Drive KTM 640 Adv and speak basic Russian. Is anybody out there interested to join (maybe only sections)?

greetz, alex

We're doing something similar. Leaving the UK on 7 May.
Have 3 confirmed bikes (4 people) with maybe a few other joining/leaving along the way.
See the thread below:

Alex,
My '02 KTM Adventure is in Rheinfelden, near Basel.
I left her there this fall after crossing from Vladivostok to Mongolia(Gobi), then Bikail Samara Moscow Latvia Budapest and then west. I would consider riding back with you because I took the northern route and missed the Ukraine, the Pamirs, and western Mongolia.
I am in the USA working hard to save more money.

You Russian language skills would be perfect for the trip and so is your motorcycle.
The route is what I was planning.
Would you consider leaving toward the end of April, beginning of May.
I have at least one week of service to do on the KTM before I can leave Europe.

Please PM me your email.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
