Touring Greece and Turkey this summer

I am a 70 year old American man riding my VStrom 650 in Turkey and Greece this summer from June 17 to August 7 . On August 8 I will head back to Germany where I keep it stored. I am interested in meeting up with fellow riders and in getting tips on riding, and on things to see and do in Greece and Turkey. I have promised to meet up with my daughter and her husband (they are studying in Europe) on a few occasions: Istanbul from July 10 to July 16, Thessaloniki on July 17, climbing Mt. Olympus on July 18 and 19, Athens August 1 to 6. The rest of the summer is open. (June 17--July 9, and July 20 to August 1). I would welcome any riders who are easy to get along with and who do not mind camping to join me if they like. If you want to know more about me, I invite you to look at my motorcycle blog where you can read about motorcycle riding in Canada, Alaska and Europe.

Oh what a shame! I start off from UK on 8th Aug heading for Turkey on my Vstrom 650. I meet up with the wife in Istanbul 15th. So I will most likely be heading through Germany 9th/10th from Calais. Maybe we will pass by on the road.

Wish you well. But my camping day's are over. Like a nice soft bed and a roof over my head at the end of the day. Not counting all the extra kit you have to drag along. You will like it where you are going.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
