From Texas down through Mexico and Central-America in april & may 2012

I just arrived in DallasTX where I start a 6 weeks Biketrip to Costa Rica. I Probably enter Mexico on April 3th.

Looking for company. For Mexico but especially the CA-part. I guess I'll enter Guatemala around april 20.

I'm a swissguy on a KLR650

Maybe I see you soon.

Glenn

It is going to be damn hot for a bike then - you nuts? Head north man. I will do that ride in December or so.

;-) thanks for the warnings..

I already did USA and Canada in 2010. And I had to pick up the bike in Texas so I didn't have much choise. I'm in MexicoCity right now on 2300m. On this altitude it's perfect... But you're probably right, at the coast and in Central-America I0m gonna sweat my ass offjeiger:Beach:
But as long I'm driving I should be good with the BMW-Rally2pro suit and the white helmet...

Hasta luego and good luck in december

You arrived really early but if you stay in the high elevations you will be alright, the coast's will be horrific for heat.

Have a good time and keep the black side down.

Hey theunstoppable, I have a quick question - wanted to send you a private message, but unfortunately, I have not posted frequently enough on HU to get access to that feature yet. Anyway, I am at the Texas border at Brownsville (far east of Texas), and the U.S. officials are scaring the crap out of me about crossing the border. I have been here for several days now trying to make a decision about if / where to cross, and I am having a hard time deciding what to do. What border crossing did you cross at? What major highways did you take to get to Mexico City? Any thoughts you might have on safety along the way would be greatly appreciated as I'm pretty much freaking out about this portion of my trip down to Chile. Thanks man, hope you're enjoying your trip!!!

Hey raj14222

I know there are some mexican guys that ride dual sport in Mexico all the time and I think they live in McAllen and I see them on the website advrider.com so you might be able to connect with them and get the lowdown - You can most likely get on that website and search out Mexico
Good luck with your trip
