Syria : During your entry they will request around 60 $ for insurance.Refuse it ,because the actual amount is about 40 $. Places that should be seen are Crac de Chavaliers ( ~ 100 km.after Lazkiye ,on the left hand ) and Palmyra.
Jordan :Petra (magnificient !! - dont miss it.The entrance tickets are normally 30$/person but there is most probably %50 discount due present situtaion. And Mt.Nebo.If your into diving ,you should visit Akabe.

If you need any detailed info just say so. I was there in April ,so the infos are fresh.

Definately agree with Crac de Chevaliers, we've been on the road for over twelve months - Cape Town 2 OZ (currently in Bangkok) - and 'the Crac' has to be one of the most awesome attractions in the world.

I rode around the Mediterranean one month ago.
Remember, to reach Egypt take the ferry from Aqaba to Nuweiba: if you enter in Israel you can't cross neither Syria nor Lybia. That's mean you can't go back home, since there are non ferry connection from Egypt to any other country.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
