Switzerland to Morocco in February/March

Hi there

Who would also like to escape from daily life and winter with a spontaneous "warming-up tour" from Switzerland to Morocco (and back)? Four or five weeks?

IMHO Morocco is within Africa one of the most safe places and (at least for Swiss and EU people) no too big preparations are required (simplified: usual immunization, passport and good bike / good equipment). GPS with Topo Morocco and a netbook are available.

Since it's my first trip to Morocco and I'm riding my fat GS Adventure I have to focus more on the traveling aspect of the trip than on the hard part like playing in the deep sand and dunes (except you would like to help to push the cow and dig it out all the time *ggg*).

I see a relaxed mix of streets and unpaved ways, maybe kind of "soft offroad" as far as my bike and my skills do allow...

I think mostly we stay in hotels and guesthouses, but if none should be available (or if real nice camping sites are around and we're in the mood) also with some camping.

To get to Morocco we take the easy way with the ferry from Genoa to Tanger .

There are two possible timetables where we can spend about three weeks in Morocco. Especially with the second variant an earlier departure also could be possible to have more time in Morocco.

Doesen't that sound good? Let me know if you're interested!

Bye

Wolfgang

It looks like we'll be heading for variant one, so we'll leave in four weeks!

My riding buddy comes from Germany and I'm in Switzerland.
We will be happy if another two or three people would like to join us for this trip.

Cheers - Wolfgang

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
