Hey - I'm currently in Slovenia and am about to head down to Croatia for a couple of days. Not sure on exact route after that but will be going through Bosnia, Serbia and Bulgaria on my way to Turkey. Not sure our routes will meet to ride due to directions of travel but always good to meet for a in Serbia if possible?

Hi Matt

Sounds like quite the trip.
I am in Cluj-Napoca in Romania and heading down south for a sunday morning ride over the Transfagarasan. Will then be at the Motocamp in Bulgaria for maybe two days before heading for Serbia.

So monday, tuesday in Bulgaria then wedensday off to Serbia. Not sure where, but open to suggestions. Never been there before, but have been advised to avoid small villages. Not for safety reasons, but they simply don't communicate very well.

Cheers

Joern

Are you riding or flying down there? Don´t underestimate the length and number of turns of the Transfagarasan. It´s not like 50km straight, then 25 curves and then 50km straight again, it´s more like 125km without a straight piece of asphalt (but beautiful it is, really).
Cheers
Chris

Hey!

Sorry for the radio silence but was just setting off to Sarajevo from Split 2 days ago and was hit by a car coming out of a side street and not stopping or looking. I am OK apart from a couple of suspected broken ribs but the bike steering is gone in terms of both suspension and handlebars. It is in with the mechanics but they are not sure of extent the damage yet and it will take a minimum of a week.

Therefore wont be about in Serbia...maybe wont be finishing my trip by motorbike

Sorry for not being able to meet up - hope the rest of your trip goes better than mine!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
