South America mid 2012
 

Hi,

Im planning a trip to south America in 2012 the plan is to ride the Pan Am Highway south and then across to Brazil to do the Trans Amazon. My question is does anyone have any information on the Trans Amazon Highway?? Is it possible to ride from Brazil back into Peru??? Ive looked on the internet but am finding it hard to get good information. At the end of it i plan to head north to Canada if my money holds out.

The other thing i keep being told i dont need a carnet for the Americas? I have traveled all the way around Africa and always used a carnet which was easy. Is it easy to do south America with out the carnet??

Any help would be grateful as this will be my first time to South America.

Also if anyone is also planing a trip to South America around the same time let me know.

I will be shipping my bike from Australia.
