Belgium to West Africa for 3 months oct 2006

hello all the bikers of the world !

if anybody is interested to join us ...
My wife (GS 650) and myself (GS 1200 adv **) are planning a 3 months round trip in West Africa (Morokko, Mauritania, Mali, Senegal, Niger, Burkina, Togo, Benin and Ghana) departing mid october 2006 from Brussel.
As we went already different
times in Morokko (99, O1, 02, 03) we will just stop there to visit friends.
Our return is planned end december 06 or januari 07, shipping the bikes back from Dakar or any other west african harbour/airport. I would not like to drive Spain/France in middle of winter ... after such a sunny ride ! (lol)
We are no "remote desert drivers",just like discovering people and countries. Were needed we drive "unpaved".
We have both living experience in Africa (North and middle) and have travelled by bike all EU/US/Taiwan/North Afrika. We speak both fluent french (motherlanguage)and Francoise some arabic.

So, why not join !

We are also keen to receive by mail (noric@skynet.be) any travel and route advise.

Thank you !!

** yee ! I just ordered a new GS 1200 adventure to replace my beloved GS 100 ... which with 140.000 km mostly overloaded ... merit retirement (no, I will not sell it )

Hi guys,

I will be heading in the same direction as you guys from the UK to South Africa via west africa. At this stage I am planning to leave around August and get to Morocco at the end of summer to avoid the top summer temperatures. I will be on my own and riding an Africa Twin so would like to keep in touch incase we meet up somewhere out there.
Take care

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
