South Africa / Namibia / Botswana April-June

Hi,

From mid April to mid June I will be travelling in South Africa (Western and Northern Cape), Namibia and Botswana. I normally travel by public transport only but last year I learned that in some parts it's quite difficult and hitch hiking didn't always bring me where I wanted or days later than planned. Mainly because of flexibility and sharing costs I'm looking for one or more travel companions so we can hire a car from time to time and create our own itinerary instead of relying on existing tours only. If you're interested to team up for (a part of) the trip you're more than welcome!

I would like to include at least the following destinations.

SOUTH AFRICA (3 wks April):

  • Cape Town
  • Table Mountain (hiking)
  • Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope Reserve
  • Swellendam
  • Stellenbosch, Vergelegen, Franschhoek, Paarl
  • Cederberg Wilderness Area (hiking)
  • Richtersveld National Park
NAMIBIA (4 wks May):

  • Namib-Naukluft Park
  • Sossusvlei
  • Swakopmund
  • Spitzkoppe Mountain (hiking)
  • Skeleton Coast Park
  • Etosha National Park
  • Windhoek
  • Fish River Canyon (hiking May 22-26th)
BOTSWANA (2 wks June):

  • Tsodilo Hills (hiking)
  • Okavango Delta
  • Moremi wildlife Reserve
  • Chobe National Park
  • Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pan National Park
  • Francistown
From there it's on to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Northern Mozambique, Madagascar, Reunion and God knows where...

I had to quit after Zimbabwe but until then hadn't encountered a single problem. However, I travelled by public transport and hitch hiking and not by any private kind of transport. Roads around the Skeleton Coast are not great.
