Smile Solo motorbiker arriving in New York - CAN ANYBODY HELP ME?

Hello!

My name is Gonçalo Mata, I'm portuguese, and 6 months ago I left Buenos Aires alone with my motorbike.

Now after nearly 40.000km I'm about to arrive at my final destination: NEW YORK CITY.
Pics and info of the big adventure in BuenaYork

I don't know anybody there, and I thought I could ask if someone would like to help me!

I would like to gather a little group of riders that can lead me from Newark to Central Park, so I arrive safely, and also not so lonely! I think it could be a nice summer ride, it will be a saturday, 18th August.

Do you know some motorbike rider in New York, or a club or just someone that cares to ride with me on this final moment of my biiiig trip?

Thank you so much for any possible help/tips.
Gonçalo Mata

NYC local

I live in NYC (Brookyln) and would love to do the same (opposite) trip you are on! I should be in the city then. I can show you from Newark to Central Park, I'd be happy to. Send me a private message or something and we can exchange info.

Where in Newark? Where in Central Park?

Hello everyone! Thank you for your kind comments, I'm starting to feel New York is going to be a friendly arriving point! The system doesn't allow me yet to send private messages.

Who can help me with chosing the ride details? How can I ask HUBB to contact the community link you mentioned?

Here is the plan with the pending variables:
DATE - Saturday, 18th August
MEETING POINT: 14h30(?), in Newark - where exactly(?) airport, maybe(?)
15h00/15h10 - 16h30/17h00: the ride, maybe including a micro NY tour before reaching Central Park - exactly what entrance(?) what itinerary(?)
17h00 - maybe a cold to celebrate? where could that be(?)

Once again I kindly thank you for any possible help/tips on this mini-event.
Gonçalo

Smile NY Welcome

I am now in Colombia otherwise I would love to meet you. I would suggest a better place for meeting than Newark. I would suggest the entrance on the New Jersey side to one of the tunnels the closest gas station. It is easy to find and easy to spot other riders. I would also try to make the meeting earlier, at least before noon, because traffic can be bad and you will have more daylight hours for your first day driving in Manhattan.

Go to the communities page to contact the New York and New Jersey communities.

I sent you an email through your website. Let me know what route you'll be taking up here and I can figure out a good place to meet. A tour of the city to Ccentral Park will be easy enough and I know of a good handful of places for a . Be happyo to helpl you out with whatever else I can.

I am just 125 miles west of NYC and I emailed you. I sent emails to friends that might be able to join the trip.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
