Shipping to Baltomore from UK in May 2014
Is anyone interested in sharing a 40 foot container from UK to Baltomoer around 22nd May 2014?
Our landcruiser is too high for a small container, but just fits the 2.56m door height of a 40 foot container (dont ask me why the length is in feet and height in meters!!). We plan to drive across Canada, to the top of Alaska, then down to Panama to cross the Darien Gap at the end of November (where we would also be happy to share a container with someone). We will eventually ship back from Columbia, but not until sometime in 2016, after a trip to the Antarctic and cycling over the Andes. All for A Beer in the Sunbier |

I do not know how expensive a high cube 40 foot container is but maybe it is nice to ask a quote from Wallenius Wilhelmsen for a roro crossing from UK to Halifax or Baltimore. When Baltimore is not necessary, Halifax is a good option. Customs extreme easy and no visum needed. When you go to Baltimore you need more than a standard 3 month visa. You can find all you need on their website. I shipped our landrover (with a raised roof) and our motorbike a few times with them. We shipped our landrover 3 times in a 20 foot container, India- Rotterdam, Rotterdam - Australia and Australia-Rotterdam but that was all more expensive and more hassle than roro. We plan to ship our motorbike with roro to Halifax in mid may and make another tour (Route 66 - Rockies - Anchorage - and back to Halifax. Maybe we meet. succes, |
