LA to TDF October 2009 to Feb 2010

Hello,

the next one on the way down to Ushuaia.....

I am 43 years old and i will leave the first week of October from LA to TDF. It`s planned to drive 4,5 months to TDF and up to Buenos Aires with my DR800 Big. Is there anybody out there who drives the same way down in this timeframe. I am flexible for the locations because of raw plannings for the trip. Would be nice to drive some sections together with nice people.

Ingo

Coming through L.A. in October

Hey Ingo,
I'm heading out of N.Y.C. in September and plan on stopping in L.A. to visit relatives, and heading south in October towards Ushuaia with a 5-6 month timeframe. Let's definitely keep in touch - I'd be interested in doing the first leg together through Mexico for sure. I'm 29, riding a KLR650 bought for this trip, been riding 5-6 years, and speak enough Spanish to get around.
Also, another HUBB user, John, has put together an email list for people heading down this fall, he is leaving a little ahead of you and I, so I don't know if we'll cross paths, but here's the link if you want to sign on to the list, go to Home and follow the link to the email list. (Thanks, John!)

Keep in touch!!

I'm on that list as well, though it's begun to look like I too might not get clear of Southern California until the beginning of October. I might be pushing a bit harder to make sure I get to T.D.F. before the cold weather starts ramping up, but then again at the rate I'm going this all might prove idle fantasy.

Glad to stay in touch. John's list is a good way to do it.

Mark

I've also applied to be on the list, mainly interested in joining up with a group for the Central America bit, I've done it 3 times, once solo and twice in a threesome and doing it solo is not the best option. I will be picking up my moto in Calgary hopefuly on the 4th September should be at the Mexican border around the middle/end of October. Ride safe.

Obadiah, please plug me into your TDF loop

I am leaving from Ohio in the next four weeks for TDF. Sounds like you have done some good homework. Could you keep me in the loop? Tom K knickpool@aol.com

southbound list

Hello Helo,

maybe, if you haven't done so yet, you could join the Shouthbound mailing list(go see a few posts up on this thread).
Very cool initiative from John...

I am leaving from eastern Canada in about 4 weeks myself, so see you on the road...

Hi Guys, I'm in Montana at the moment getting some bits for the moto then off to Yellowstone then to the North California HU meet before south to the Mex border most likely one of the Arizona crossings. I've mentioned it before but maybe Mazatlan would be a good place to link up prior to transitting CA. Ride safe.

Tdf

Just signed up for John's list. Looks like there will be two of us leaving sept. 28. Both on KLR 650's. I will be checking email on the way to see who is near and wants to hook up for any portion. When is a good target meeting time in Mazatlan?
