Travel partners needed

Hi all, Late April I,m embarqing on a trip to the UK.
Its been quite a while since I,ve been that way and am abit nervous of what to expect.
Now were all part of europe I presume my normal insurance will be sufficent to cover any eventualities?
I understand the price of petrol has risen over the past few weeks, do you think it would be prudent to take supplies with me, someone told me you could purchase it from fuel dumps in laybys along the A1 amonst other places.
Having heard horror stories about the NHS i,m sure you can appriceiate I want to get the contents of my first aid kit right on spec, how are the customs officials about the importation of stuff like tabacco and steralizing spirts?
When driving around the major routes do I have to wedge a phone up my crash helmet or is talking whilst driving just a local custom? If anyone help me with further info about travelling around the UK i,ll gladly take it on board.
Cheers

Hey Blackjack,
You make England sound like a THird World COuntry!
Why don't you just go across there with no expectations and enjoy what you experience?

be careful! england is dangerous. we wear nothing but animal skins, live in caves and only make grunting noises. there are no roads and it is totally uncivilised here. have you applied for your visa yet? don't forget your yellow fever/typhoid vaccination certificates.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
