I left Bellingham a week ago headed for South America but am currently wandering almost aimlessly in search of friends and relatives all over El Norte. Current plan is to cross into Mexico from Texas around mid-October, then try to make reasonable progress south until I run out of road, money, time, energy or mechanical functioning (mine or the bike).

Will check in here and elsewhere on an intermittent basis. I'm on an over-loaded KLR and will want some company into and around Copper Canyon (at least). Signal if interested.

Hi Guys, Flagstaff tomorrow and the Arizona/Mexico border in about 5-7 days. Intention at the moment is to drift down the middle but NOT Batopilas, seen it, done it, lost the T shirt. Then Hildago de Parrill, Durango, Espinosa de Diablo to Mazatlan for a couple of days off then towards the hell that is CA borders. But I am totally flexible and happy to meet up in Mexico but would be v.pleased (Brit understatement) to meet up before the aforementioned borders. Ride safe.

My plans are starting to firm up a bit. I'm going to be spending a week or two in San Cristobal de Las Casas for some spanish lessons. Currently thinking of hitting the US/Mexican border at Nogales then ride to San Cristoba. Oh, I'll have to make a stop at Tequila, MX too!

After the classes I'm headed all the way south.

Should be at the US/MX boarder sometime during the week of Oct 18th and in San Cristobal Nov 2nd.

There are at least a couple of us rendered unenthusiastic by the rains currently falling in Antigua--a week ahead of you, probably. I'm thinking I'll leave tomorrow but basically mill about until the weather clears up a bit, then resume heading south.

There are at least several more a week or so ahead of me. In fact, it's hard to turn the corner without tripping over an overland biker of some sort. Hope to see you on the road.

From davea.

Today I will arrive in San Cristobel and also intending to head all the way south. I would like to do a few Spanish classes somewhere.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
