Santiago Chile to Vancouver Feb 2008
 

Hi All.

Change of plans,

May head down to Pucon before going over to Argentina. Then head North.

My plans are to head over to Mendoza Argentina then head North. Possibly into Bolivia and on to Peru. Have to hook up with some friends in Arequipa for a few days but other than that I have no fixed plan other than eventually ending up back in Canada.( Yukon Canada )
I'm traveling on a R100 gs. If you're interested in riding that way for a while or getting together to talk about travel experiences let me know.
I'm looking forward to meeting like minded - travelers and getting back on the road.
February 10th or 11th departure form Santiago??

i am riding to tierra del fuego currently. at puerto mont today.

its possible that i could be back in the santiago area by feb 10th...

just touching base in case we can hook up and ride some together.. i am hoping to ride all the way back to usa ...

anything can happen but wanted to reach out..

Sounds good . Lets keep in touch. I don,t know where I will be staying just yet but will let you know when I do. I may have a day or so with paperwork and insurance. Also need to pick the bike up at shipping and may need to do some assembly.

Just an update,

Had a problem with my alternator 192 r100gs and had a rotor sent down from Canada. Stator looks to be O.K but if I could find one i,d cahnge it out too. I should be up and running tomorrow.
Santiago is a tough place to get parts. No one stocks anything but they will order for an outrageous price.
If any one out there knows of a good souce of parts in Santiago please let me know.

Riding hard North
 

Just an update,

Ran on a great mountain road to San Juan. Awsome scenery.

Got things sorted on The bike , SORT OF, and am going Ride hard for a couple of days, I would like to be in Ariquipa Peru by the end of the month. If anyone is going to be in the neighbourhood let me know.
I am looking for someone to ride with to Bogata. Then ship the bike to Panama.

Border crossing Ecuador
 

Wow,

Crazy crossing,

Three differrnt locations and you gotta look for them. Start at he Peru side and get your exit paperwok done then on to Aduana for Equador Bike paperwork . Next stop Immagration Down the road on the right just out of town. Bit of a mess getting out of town and it busy.
Must be getting used to the system as I didn,t get stressrd out at all.
Riding 20m miles just to get out of Lima was a lot more interesting.

Any how I,m just acrosss the border into Equador and still looking for someone to ride north with.
Oh yea I ran into this Argentina fellow on a (guesssing ) 350 cc honda all decked out and the guy had been everywhere and was heading back to BA.
Made my day.

Guacomo,

Decided to ride Columbia and it was great. Made new friends everywhere I went. Great stories to tell and great roads to ride. I would have liked to have spent more time here but I am off to Panama tomorrow.
Wasted three days trying to ship from Quio. I would definatly recommend Girag in Bogata.

Crossing into Costa Rica
 

Hi all,

Good ride today. Ran into four Costa Ricans and will be crossing into Costa Rica in the morning.
I heard there was a couple ahead if me having problems with a weld on the frame of there bike. Two up on a beemer. Anyone know who and where they might be at.
Looking for someone riding to Mexico now.

Weird day,

Dead cows and buzzards, Should be well into Guamala tommorrow and looking for change in scenery. I Still haven,t heard anthing on the couple riding two up on a beemer and problems with the frame . Any one know ; I thoiught they were a couple of days ahead of me but haven,t seen them.
Not many on the road the last couple of days but keeping an eye out, Ran into a couple of Guys at the last border heading south.
