Round the world in 80 days

Hi Myself, Flo and my mate, Mike are going to set off on an around the world trip next week the 10th of June on our 2 F800GS bikes.

we are traveeling from Luzern in switzerland to Venice, then venice to Istanbul via, slovenia, croatia, serbia, bulgaria, then turkey. From here we will travel along the black sea coast, take a boat from trabzon to sochi, Russia. Then head for Astrkahan, cross into kazakhstan, head for baikonour perhpas watch the launch of an unmaned rocket on the 28th of june. Down to Almaty, charyn canyon, up to Russia, Barnaul. Then into mongolia, heading towards the gobi then UB, after that out into Russia again, round china down to Vladivostok and from here catch a plane to seattle, USA, head along the pacific coast to San fran and LA, then to Las Vegas, from here to Yellowstone park. Then across to Chicago and from here to the finish in Boston.

If anybody is going to be in any of the places in the next 3 months, let us know and perhaps we can exchange some travel info and have a beer!! :-)

Why such a rush? Hope you like the look of your speedometer and have a comfy seat, because that is all you will be seeing...

Two quesitons:

1. Why are taking a spare alternator? I'd have though a spare fuel pump and injectors would be higher up the list.

2. Why are you taking only three months? You ain't gonna be interacting with very many local people at that pace.

Rtw

If you are going to do this trip in 80 days !!!! May I recommend "Qantas"
But seriously it sounds great and if you do it in that. Than its a better 80 days spent than someone laying around on the beach for that long.

Good Luck, Enjoy & Safe Travells I'm envious !

Cheers
Paul

Thanks guys, well usual reason of not having enough time and work commitments are why we can only take 2.5 months, even in that time you do get to meet people in each place and especially in small villages even just stopping at the local cafe you feel the warmth and kindness of the local people.
