Germany - Eastern Europe -Iran May 2005

Hey everybody,
I will take off in Germany around the 15th of May and plan to go thru Eastern Europe and Turkey to Iran and will than set over to UAE and Oman. I am still on my own so far but would be interested to hook up with somebody for the whole or part of the trip. I have done quite a few solos, not on a motorcycle though. I have travelled a simmilar route thru Syria, Jordan and Egypt on a bicycle not too long ago, but I am fairly new to long distance travel with an engine.
Anyways, the downside is that I have a schedule, gotta be in Oman by the beginning of July and still have to get a visa for Iran (I think in Ankara). Anybody interested? Let me know.
Oh, one more thing. I am notoriosly cheep on the road. So camping, groceries and cafe latté will be on the agenda. There are great camping spots everywhere along the route.... and nobody bothers.
Ok thats enough of my incomplete english.

Cheers
Christian

Hi Broesel,
I think you are a little to fast for me. I am leaving in June (first week) in Germany, and you have to be in Oman in beginning of July. There are only 4 weeks...
The route beginning in Turkey is quit the same, and I also thought about visiting the Emirates and Oman. Why dont you stop on your way from Hanover south in Hochheim. Thats nearby Frankfurt and should be on your way? You are highly welcome..

hey helmut and niels,
I know I am rushing, but I have to. After I finished my buisness in Oman I will have time. But to get down there, thats gonna' be long hours.
I would love to stop at Hochheim. Not sure yet how my schedule is exactly going to work out.
Days are getting longer, isn't that something?. Time to get on the road.
Just giver

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
