Riding from San Diego up the 101 to Monterey for the MotoGP July 2013
 

Hi,

I am riding my 650 dual sport "Adventure Bike" from San Diego, up the I-5 to LA, then out to the 101, thru Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, up to Monterey, for the MotoGP races at Laguna Seca Raceway. I am leaving San Diego on Friday morning, July 19th, and coming back on Monday, July 22nd. I was hoping to find some other people who might be riding up (and back) on the same day(s), that I could ride with. I thought it would be more interesting, safer and more fun to ride together, if I can find someone to ride with. I do not plan on speeding, (well maybe a little), so I wanted to say that up front. If anyone is making the same trip and possibly wants to ride up together, then please let me know.

I won't be going up, because I'm now in France, but your posting took me back 30 years when I was living in SD ( Bancroft St) and I rode a shovel head all the way up to Monterey on the same route and back. I t has to be one of the best rides I ever remember except when the Harley refused to start after a fill up at Salinas and threw me off the kick start. Hope you find a fellow rider, but enjoy anyway!
