Have you managed to get official clearance to take your moto into Cuba? If so let us all into the secret so we can all enjoy that place before it becomes an extension of Florida. Ride safe.

We made a lot of contacts with customs agents (Based in Cuba and Venezuela), shipping agent and consulates. Everything seems OK. I'm very optimist. But we never did it ...

Within 3 weeks I'll make sure that everything is confirmed.

For sure we will publish all the contacts and tips here HU !

Hi all,
We still in Caracas and that the news to whom want to go to Cuba from here:

Shipping agent & Customs:

Caracas => Expotran
- Sector Cabo Blanco, La Guaira - Maiquetia Galpon n1 Edo Vargas
- Contact: Sra Ines Morao imorao@expotran.com (+58) 212 716 56 35
La Habana => Transcargo
- Contact: Armando Carvajal arrastia@transcargo.transnet.cu
(+53) 7860 81 25

Key Requirements:
- Max 30 days tourist license
- "Autorizacion Vehicular" from Seniat (at Venezuala border)
- The process must be done in a corporate basis, not personal

Every thursday Cubana Aviacion Cargo, send around 5 to 10 bikes using those "channel". Of course, most of them are Cubans, but if the requirement above are ok, and you are available to a expend around US$ 2000 (just to go), so you can go.

Unfortable our travel budget not allow us to do it (2XUS$2000 just for the bike).

In a other hand, Venezula is much beautiful and enjoyable than we can imagine. He have fantastic days here and made valuable new friends from HU Caracas Community.

We change our plan and are going to Cartagena and ride north trought Central America.

Hope I could help.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
