Phoenix to Panama in early to mid February

Hey there,

I'm making my escape from the cold Alberta winter in the beginning of February. Trucking my motorcycle to Phoenix and starting from there. The goal is Panama but destination and schedule are completely flexible. I've toured through Costa Rica and Nicaragua before and there are a few places I wouldn't mind seeing again. I'm planning on taking 1-2 months. I'm not opposed to travelling alone but its nice to have company. Anyone out there interested in joining or anyone out there who wouldn't mind someone tagging along?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,
Timing looks good. Let me know departure date from Phoenix as your schedule develops. Skiied in Jasper on 23 December and it was 20 below. There is still 6 inches of snow in Victoria. Time to go south!
Cheers
Randy

I am headed south too!!

I am headed south, to Cartagena, Colombia in the middle of February too. I speak some Spanish. I am riding a V-strom and have time. I really do not want to go solo, so I would also like some company. Lets talk about schedules, budgets, riding goals, etc. Buy the way, I am a little older and mostly want to stay on pavement and sleep indoors. Wine, women and song!

Travel Plans

Hello,

It's looking like I'll probably be leaving Alberta on Feb. 5 or 6th. Taking 2-3 days to drive to Phoenix. I'll be staying with family in Phoenix for 4-5 days doing day trips and then heading south towards Mexico around the 13 of February or so. Plan is finally starting to come together but still fairly loosely scheduled.

Hi Greg,
I may be a week or two ahead of you. It really depends on weather and how successful I am at getting through Washington and Oregon. Phoenix is a good target for me to do a tuneup and tire change before heading into Mexico. Hope to be leaving Victoria on or before 25 Jan. I'll keep checking forum for updates.
Cheers
Randy

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
