Thumbs up

Hey Brennan:
Good to hear you made it out of there.

It was called Duck Canyon? Is that because of the tunnels, don't remember seeing any ducks? Must have been over 50 tunnels in all - I read something in Huaraz said there were 35 in that 5km stretch near the Duke Energy facility. I just thought it was pretty a long way from anywhere, I certainly wasn't expecting to run into another adventure traveller there; then again, if not there, then where? The ride a few days later from Huaraz to Huanuco was even harder - 10 hours riding that day. Warmup for Bolivia!

Good luck on your fundraising efforts, and maybe I'll see you on the road again somewhere.

And I'm still looking for some other rider(s) to share such moments! How much fun it is to run into other travellers on the road just as insane as you.

Not that it matters much, but we are hanging out in Quito for about 3 more weeks, then headed south.

Ah...took me 10 weeks to make it from Quito to Nasca...so I'm not going to wait to have that .

I'm in Cusco now anyway.

Hey! I know this is an old thread, but I am planning a group ride all over Peru and need some information about the Huaraz-Huamachuco-Cajamarca (thru the Canyon del Pato). I've lived in Peru for many year, know Huaraz itself and have motoed all over the southern mountains and eastern jungles... but not this route...and I am to LEAD this group! HELP!

Toby
