Hi Olav,

Im Nathan, from England, but living in Fremantle, WA, and ride a KLR 650.

I am looking at doing the same trip, but then over to Asia in June 2014

I am just in early planning stages, and dont have a definite time scale yet, due to work etc.

My house mates have already done this trip, so i have lots of information!

So i am sure i could join you for part of trip or maybe more!
Also if you need help with anything, now you know some people in the area!

Nathan

Hi,

The Shitbox Rally (cars only) is doing Perth to Darwin via the Gibb River Road between May 31st and June 6th 2014. There will be 250 cheap rally cars on the route that week, plus support and catering vehicles. So it might be best to plan to reach Darwin before that.

Cheers,
Brett.

My understanding is that you get the permit online (google should help here) before you eave, and then carry the paperwork with you. I'm unaware of any gates or similar marking the boundaries of the aboriginal land.

Which way are you thinking of going?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
