OZ to UK, 2003

Would like to leave OZ for the UK around March/April. Haven't done any concrete planning yet, just dreaming and reading, but need to start. If anybody is planning on leaving Darwin for Asia around the same time let me know and maybe we can swap stories and provide encouragement.

Hiya!
Great stuff. Hope you get started really soon.
Im from Singapore and will be doing my trip from Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand-Myanmar(if possible)India-Pakistan-Iran-Turkey-Bulgaria-Yugo- all the way till Ireland. My departure date is sometime end Feb to March 2003. Im awaiting my carnet paperwork, and will be apllying visas for 5 countries that i need. Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Iran, Bulgaria. I suppose you'll need the same visas too.
My bike ('89 Dommie) is now being prepared, waiting for new gaskets before we sew her up, and then to make some racks & panniers and i will be ready. Lets keep in touch.

Cheers
Dalbir

Thanks for the replies. Dalbir, sounds like your well advanced with your planning. Pretty exciting time eh? Mark, have emailed you. Hi Carol. Having followed the HUBB postings for a while I think you win a prize for being most keen to do it all again. Will certainly contact you soon and greatly appreciate the offer. Also nice the offer to show me where to go. I usually just get told where to go!!!
Current plan is to leave Darwin for East Timor and Island Hop from there. Anybody know why this can't be done?

Regards

John

Hi ;

I have similar plans ,but the otherway around. Somewhere in April i will leave Nepal to head back home. But will travel intensely in Pakistan and Iran ,but just a little bit of India.

I have prepared notes for these four countries ; where to stay in which town and some notes regarding to countries etc.

It may help you for accomodation plans , so if you want i can e-mail it to you.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
