NYC to Tierra Del Fuego September 2009

Hello all-
I'm planning to leave NYC in September 2009 and head for Tierra Del Fuego. I've done a fair amount of travelling, both solo and with others, speak basic Spanish, and have been riding for years.
If anyone is heading down into Mexico and south through Central America in October and would like to ride together awhile, give me a shout.
I've backpacked a lot in Central America, but haven't done much in the way of border crossings w/vehicles, so I'd be glad of the company for the first few, strength in numbers!
cheers-
Obadiah

Hello Gents.
I'll be heading North through Central America in Sept/Oct/Nov.
Maybe we could cross paths for a beer?
I hear Honduras is nice that time of year. Oh wait...

Simon
I plan to head north from BA mid Sept. then up to US by mid Dec. Where are you starting from? I plan to be in Columbia end of Oct. (see Columbia Libre gathering)
To those heading down maybe we can meet up on the way for a beer and a heads up for what to expect as we continue on our way.

Down to Colombia

Hey Obadiah,
If everything goes according to plan I should be leaving LA for mexico on my way to Colombia around early or mid october 2009. if that fits your travel plans let me know. It be great to have a partner for a trip like that particullarly to begin, but alot of my friends either think I'm crazy to attempt it or are too busy to come. I've also travelled quite a bit and I just got a 2005 KLR and can't wait to take her down there. Do you have a couchsurfing account. You can also email me at stewartalsopIII@gmail.com

I hope to cross into Mexico at Brownsville from Chicago around September 18 and catch the once a week plane (Copa) to Medelin on October 7 out of Panama. Lima around Oct.22, LaPaz,Bolivia around Nov. 5, Ushuaia and back up to BA just in time to catch a flight home for Christmas with the fam. In 1976 I drove my Chevy van all the way to Costa Rica, but it's been so long, I really don't remember many details about the vehicle part, other than the fumigation part, cough, cough, gasp, gasp!

Keep in touch, perhaps we'll meet up.

Heading South Sept, Oct, Nov

Heading to TDF starting in Sept Oct or Nov. Going to do it 10 days to two weeks at a time, fly back, make money, return and continue further. flexible on departure time. Plan to go solo unless anyone else is interested in this unusual strategy. Would like to meet up with others for any portion of the journey. Leaving from Ohio.

time frame & shipping

fdurancol & helo,

Don't look now, but I'm on the road! Hope to cross into Mexico at Brownsville this Fiday AM if all goes as planned.

Copa no longer flies to Medellin. Their last emails to me were hard to understand. Their english & my spanish didn't jive too well. So I will be contacting them soon from the road.

Do hope to fly to colombia around October 7/8.

Helo, sounds like I will be ahead of you.

Fdurancol, what,s your time frame?
