Nordkapp May 2013
 

hi

I am off to norway on May 17th from Harwich to Esbjerg. then riding up to nordkapp and back through finland. If time then will ride back home to uk via estonia, latvia and lithuania.

If anyone is either there or wants to share cost of cabin then get in touch.
Planning to free camp quite a bit and test out my new 4 season down sleeping bag!

If you go to Nordkapp in May you must be prepared for some rather Cold and artic conditions. Today - 16. april the town of Honningsvåg - the nearest town of Nordkapp still has more than 100 cm of snow on the ground. So if youre going there in one month - pack a lot of warm clothes and hope you have grip heaters on your motorbike....:smiliex:

Not all camping sites will have opend for the summer but some will.

Anyhow - it isnt impossible, just be prepared for some cold tempratures.
The light is awesome in Northern Norway in late may and no darkness at all. Daylight 24/7 and if youre Lucky a little sun as well.

Thank you for your input. I'm looking forward to seeing the light. Shame I won't see northern lights but then wouldn't be able to ride there! The cold isn't a problem. Just hope some of the roads are open!
