New Orleans, Louisiana to Vancouver, Washington (Late August 2013)

Hello All,

Toward the end of August 2013 I'll be departing New Orleans headed west to eventually end up in Vancouver, Washington.

I have about 5 weeks off work and intend on making the trip about 3.5 to 4 weeks. I ride a 1200GS Adventure and intend on doing some off-roading. For lodging I'll be using couchsurfing and camping for the most part. If anyone is available and wants to hit the road lets rock and roll. Or if anyone knows of any great off-road trails please let me know.

A little about myself. I'm 27 and have been riding for a little over ten years now. I played around on dirt bikes when I was younger but that's about the extent of my 2 wheel off-road experience. I've mainly been a road rider for most of my riding tenure. I'm a quick study and look forward to the new challenge. Hopefully I haven't scared off any potential joiners. If anyone is willing to show me a thing or two on the road less traveled I'd be super jazzed. I've rebuilt two older bikes from the handlebars down so perhaps we can trade on skills.

Cheers and safe riding
Dev

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
