New to this... anyone up for meeting up for a beer?

Hello all,

timidly planning my first trip on my old Honda CB550, and wondering if any fellow, more experienced travellers, are willing to meet up over a beer (anywhere in London) to discuss the ins and outs of all this motorcycle travel adventure feeling I'm getting. Can't be bothered trawling through post after post to find each little tidbit, prefer to work face to face!

Thanks!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news Qiyamah but trawling through the forums is what being prepared is all about. No-one you meet is going to be able to tell you even a fraction of the information that is available on this site.

That said, if you fancy a beer and a general chat I am sure there is a meeting in your area you could attend checkout http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...s-meetings-uk/

And welcome to HU, it really is worth looking through the forums and people appreciate not having to answer the same questions over and over. "What's the best type of luggage?" for example has been asked and answered a thousand times.

Ride safe,
Ol

True, there is a lot of information absorb here, and I'm lazy. I am still acquiring a taste for this adventure motorcycle thing and enjoy hearing the wisdom of others, I learned my trade from my father ya know ;)

Great blog, you're doing on two wheels what I did on two feet, can't believe you made it to Muktinath...! I first learned to ride bikes in Kathmandu and survived, a few scars, damaged hire bikes and dodgy hospitals later, I'm sure you can appreciate that after riding there!

I found the best method of intro, to learn things from HU is to regularly look on HUBB Forums 'Post: 24hours' link.

Look down the topics list to get an idea of current topics under discussion - most things come up time and again. Doing this, you will quickly also learn which posters have similar interests and knowledge for your own aspirations, or the geographic area of interest or equipment or vehicle.

Only read those that interest you or you will be here for ever and never get out for that beer!
