Need a partner 4 cntrl and south am. travel

I've been riding motorcycles since I could walk but have never been on a bike tour before and frankly need to check my head out of society for a while. I'm 34, an Architect and in desperate need to see what lies south of the border. Although the idea of going alone sounds tempting I don't think it's such a hot idea. I currently have a '93 KLR 650 so I think that's enuf to make the distance and take some abuse.

Also, any advice from readers out there would be great. I'm totally new to moto-touring. The only planning I've done is to start my shots. Otherwise, I really have no idea what I'm getting into.

Thanks all who reply

Hey Big Joe- My girlfriend and I are on the road in Panama City, Panama right now after five months and 13000 miles on our KLRs. You can check out our site www.rtw101.com for some info on what we did to ready the KLRs for the road. You can also read some of the stories in Journal and Pics to find out some things maybe you shouldn´t do. Like a lot of people there are some things we could only learn the hard way on the road. If you find yourself in South America in the next 5 or 6 months drop us a line. Cheers, Chris and Spice.

We are crossing the border at Brownsville, 1-21-2004. Let us know if it fits your schedule. Will probably split up down the coast.

Hey man-

24-yr-old male on budget... heading from southeast USA to Panama (or thereabouts) and maybe back as well - thinking march/april 2004. About a 1 month trip - if you're leaving that late then give me a call-

Brian
