I'll be leaving for South Texas around the 16th of January, heading for Panama. I might catch you on your way north.

I'm in San Miguel de Allende (in a van with two dogs) and will be heading to Belize, then further south. Would be great to meet. Email at each new destination?? Or ETA?

I will be crossing on 1/30(brownsville) with intent to head south(Oaxaca area)immediately. once there I will slow things down doing the rest of Mex and C Amer at a leisurely pace. the only plans I have is to enjoy.

I hope to meet one or more of you out there.

We (2 guys) are leaving the Ventura, CA area tomorrow and hook up with our third companion in San Diego. We will go through Copper Canyon and then head down to Panama and on to Venezuela. Perhaps we meet on the way.

Hi,

We`re also two guys travelling south. Presently in Puerto Escondido and heading noth to Oaxaca in about a week or two. We`re really taking things slow and don`t really have a timeline. You can read more about where we our in the blog section.
We`re under Dahan, Eric and Berelovich Gaby (Smokey D and G Money).
I`ll be keeping an eye out on this thread to see if we`re ever close.
Regards,
G

Everyone's obviously meeting interesting people en route to somewhere, hense the quiet thread! Just for the record, I'm leaving San Miguel de Allende today, and will head towards Pueblo, then over to Chetumal, before heading down to Costa Rica if anyone else is anywhere along this route.

Lorraine,
We are currently in Belize and should be here for another five or so days. After that we are headed to Guatemala. Let's see if we can't hookup down there.

Susan and Tom, I´m a bit behind! I´m currently in Orizabo and hope to make it near the Yucatan today. I´ll email again when I´m closer, though I may want to stay for a bit near that city north of Belize? Starts with a C... How long will you be in Guatamala?

Lorraine,
We have been delayed by rains (Western Highway was closed yesterday) so we are still in Belize. If the "C" city is Chetumal, MX, then you are a days ride behind us. We will stay in San Ignacio for a day or two before heading into Guatemala.
A very good hotel to stay if you are visiting Belize City is the Global Village. It is located about 6 miles outside of Belize City, at the airport intersection and I know your in a van, they have safe parking and they let us park both of our bikes in the lobby. $50 US gets you a clean room and a fried egg sandwich for breakfast. Good people run it. The other hotels in town were either $150 a night or $35 for some dubious accomidations.

Bicyclekid - Have you made it to Belize yet?
I think we were behind you by 5 days or so in San Cristobal.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
