Morocco 2011 late Feb and Early March

My second trip in the Land Rover 110 in preparation for the big one later this year. First one was UK, summer and only 5 days.....oh golly.

I know i don't post here, as to be honest i've not needed to yet, I spend all my hours elsewhere but all the same the below applies here as it does on my local forum haunts.

We're planning on going down to France do 3 days skiing and then off to morocco for the next couple of weeks. If anyones planning on being there in early march let me know as me and the other half would love to meet up. This is the first proper trip we have done so we're way out of our comfort zone and a friendly face would be welcomed. We are no doubt unprepared and if we make it there and back without assistance i will be amazed. We off to do some easy routes from Chris's book so fingers crossed. If we get bored there always skiing on the way back !

We are sleeping in the 110 in both the ski resort and in Morocco so the real test is a few nights at -10 or so in the resort. Should be a test for the cab heater at least.

If you're on a bike we'll make you a cup of tea and if you're not we will anyhow. We're in a Green Land Rvoer 110 and they call me Neill and the co-pilot Julie. We are off round the world for two years this october and thats going to be why we start posting here.....you guys are the experts.

I plan to be in Morocco from early March for up to 3 weeks on my bike (GS1150). Bike is ready but no fixed route yet - just getting down to the planning phase now. I want to try a few easy pistes while out there as well as the usual routes. Probably going to be staying in cheap/medium hotels mainly. I expect to be getting the ferry over from Spain around the 6 or 7 March.

If you two or anyone else biking around in Morocco during March wants to meet up for a bit, that would be fantastic.

Cheers, Andy

We should already be there when you get there as we'll be leaving morocco on the 11th possibly not sure where we will be but we are also doing some easy pistes. Not sure I made it clear we are on 4 wheels in a Land Rover and will likely be camping out or using hostels when we need a shower.

Also arriving in Ceuta - 4th March, for two weeks. Five on bikes + another two and three with slightly different plans. We are heading to Chef on first night, then down to Azrou, Tinerhir, Erfoud, Rissani, Mhamid, Tata and then North - ish! As mush piste and as little big town as possible, camping and auberge. Would welcome a cup of tea with milk and one sugar please. If you see us - I am the one that makes a Tenere look like a Fsie!

Hi all,
Update on my plans as follows. I now plan to be in the Midelt/Erfoud area from around 8 March, then gradually work my way South-West on a mixture of roads and easyish pistes to finish up around the Goulimime area at the end of March. If anyone is around and wants a riding buddy for some of those days, let me know. I ride a GS1150 and plan to mainly stay in hotels.
Cheers, Andy

Anyone in Morocco?

Hi,
I'm in Morocco right now, travelling on to Zagora tomorrow, staying there for a few days, then moving over to Ouzazarte for a few days. Anyone want to meet up for a or even to do some easy pistes together?
Cheers,
Andy

Peter at Bikershome is a good source of info for places to ride around Ouarzazate area. Nice place to stop as well.
