Anyone in Morocco 13th April - 17 May?

Hi All,

I will be riding solo around Morocco between 13th April - 17 May and was wondering if there were any other riders about in that time? My plans are very open and simply looking to take each day as it comes with the sole obligation to be in Marrakech 17 May.

I'm riding a Yamaha XT660R (no lightweight enduro, but no tractor either) and hoping to ride a number of pistes and generally wander about to see what I can see. I won't be carrying the kitchen sink, but I am taking a tent for an obligatory night in the Sahara.

I have also posted on this Thread but rather than hijack that thread, I have created a new one.

Should you be about and looking for someone to ride with, give me a shout.

Cheers,
Dale

Hey Dale,we're currently in Velez Blanco in Almeria but we'll be heading over around the last 10 days in April. That's me, Tim on a 990 Adventure and my Italian friend Luca on a Tenere 660 Z. We'll be dropping some gear with a friend in Fuengirola and just taking enough with us for a 10-14 day scoot around, including a tent for the same reason you mention. A very rough circuit would be down to Er Racchidia, across to Ouazarzate, onto Agadir then up the coast to Essaouira....picking up some lightish pistes along the way. We tend to follow the wind and keep everything quite loose to allow spontaneity to strike often and well but will post back when some firmer dates land.....enjoy the ride !

Hi Guys, currently in Zagora and no surprise, it is quite warm here. I will have a rest day here and work out where to go next.

Edge - The Cirque de Jaffar is a great run and the views through to Dades is simply out of this world. If you are looking for an Auberge in Imilchil, I can recommend Jardin de Imilchil - 200dhm half board with enough quality food to serve a small army.

Hi Dale, sadly we're not going to make it over this time. We got delayed on the way down and now I have to block out some time to return back to London for a funeral. Hope you 're having fun and will get to hook up with some other riders.

Hi Dale,

You still around. I'm taking a ferry tomorrow into Ceuta and plan on heading towards Rabat and then Marrakech. Is the 17the the end of your trip?

Hi patbarbar, apologies that I didn't see your message earlier - I was out and about without wifi.

I am still here and am currently in Marrakesh. However, the trip for the next two weeks is primarily road based, playing chauffeur to my wife who is flying in to join me.

We should be found somewhere within the region between the High Atlas and Merzouga and happy to share trails, hotel information and other suggestions from the previous five weeks of touring, should our paths cross.

Cheers,
Dale

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
