Germany - Rwanda

Hi

I'm planning a trip with my bike from Germany to Rwanda. The current route I have in mind is via Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenia and Uganda.

I ride a 91er Africa Twin, and have some offroad / desert experience. The start date is not yet fixed but will be in Feb or latest March 09 - I know this is not much time to think about it.

So if anyone likes to join please mail at thomas@tgoertz.de

room for one more?

Hello Thomas

My name is Simon, I am currently in England finishing up the acquisition of a Transalp. I was planning to head down the West of Africa for a few months, but could be swayed to the East depending on schedules. What is your time line and are you still looking for a riding partner? Hope to hear back soon.

Munich to Cape Town

Hi Thomas,

I'm just dioing the preparation for a trip from munich to cape town.
Right know my plans are to start in late march, unfortunatliy I do have no flexibility to start earlier.
The route I planed is pretty much the same as yours apart from that I plan to continue to south africa.

However I would realy appriciate to ride in a team when at least when entering sudan and along the way to rwanda.

Regarding my late departure date I plan not to spend many time in southern europe and syria or maybe shorten up a bit by taking a ship (quite not easy to find one)
So if you plan to start earlier I can catch up later.

Would be nice to hear from you.

Markus

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
