Smile London to Capetown to Egypt and beyond....

Hi

I am travelling down West Africa to Capetown and then up the East side to Egypt and beyond. Route is relatively flexible, on the most part, barring the need to get visas

I will leave mid to late November 2010 and was wondering if anyone was going in my direction. Not worried if it is part or all the journey.

I will be travelling by motorcycle, a modified R100GS

Cheers

Hi Desert

I have a provisional plan to do the following route (but I am entirely flexible and happy to see what happens):

Set off mid to end Nov from London

Spain
Morocco
Mauri
Mali
Burkina Faso
Ghana
Togo
Benin
Niger
Nigeria
Cameroon
Gabon
Congo Brazzaville
DRC
Angola
Namibia
South Africa
Botswana
Zimbabwe
Mozambique [maybe Madagascar]
Tanzinia [def Zanzibar]
Kenya
Uganda
Ethiopia
Sudan [if I can get a visa]
Egypt
Then make my way home to England

Time schedules are not an issue, expect to take 6-9 months at least. Handed my notice in recently and so have to do something

Some camping, some hotels

I'll join

Hi,

I'm also planning to do the complete African tour. I'll be happy to join.
In 2-3 weeks I'll be able to confirm the dates.

Sounds like an awesome trip, I've just got to London from Australia, and I'm currently looking for an adventure bike and doing something awesome like this... limited funds unfortunately tho.

Do you have an estimated cost, or a daily budget?

Howzit,

I will leave Johannesburg mid January 2011, going up the east coast and crossing to the arabic peninsula (in case I get the visas...), then through Iran (depending on the situation with their president and Iraq then) and Turkey/Syria/Greece across to Italy and up to Germany, traveling on my 1150 GS Adv.

Would be great to travel parts together, let me know when you make it to South Africa!

Cheers
H

Hi Booga

I am not really sure of the cost, probably around $20 - $30 per day dependent on whether I am camping or hotel

Hi Guys,
I am also heading down through West Africa. I will hopefully arrive in Morroco early to mid October, and looking to hook up with fellow traveller/s. In no rush really and easy going. Let me know if anyone is thinking the time frame will work for them.
