Malaysia

I'm currently in Malaysia starting my SE Asia trip and killing time until the MotoGP in September. In Melaka at the moment and will be heading over to the east coast for a leisurely ride north, taking my time. Anyone in the area let me know.

Steve

Steve,
Heading up from Sing about the 8th, up east coast then across to Phuket & back down west side to return to Sing. I wear armour so was wondering if I am going to sweat to death with fabric jacket. Do you get time to don a waterproof suit in a downpour or not?
Regards, Dudz

If you can, head over to Salang on Tioman Island on the east coast, beautiful place.

I'm planning on being in SE Asia until Feb/March next year, I'll be around somewhere, probably Thailand at that time.

I met another rider in Australia who was heading over via Indonesia. So there should be a few of us around!

Some advice: Take the lonely planet guide advice and skip Johor Barhu. Also, have Malaysian cash on you if you leave Singapore via Tuas, you'll need it at the toll booth

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
