Exclamation Malaga to Nouakchott and back!

right!

I am planning to head off to Nouakchott (from Malaga) and back over Christmas break.

The plan as it stands is to ship bikes from London to Malaga and fly there to meet them on the 16th Dec.

Then cross to Morocco and head south to Mauritania, got to be back in the office my 8/01/07 so got to make it to Malaga on the 7th and leave the bikes to be shipped to London.

We, i.e. myself and my newly acquired wife will be on two bikes (GS and a TTR)

If anyone wants to come along let me know... will be good to share the costs of the shipping to Spain (GBP 1000 each way min. 4 bikes ie. 250 each) and some company..

At the moment the plan says its a road trip averaging 200 mls a day (!) plus a day to spare.. assumming Nador to Nouakchott is around 2000 mls.

keep me posted on your plans, i hope to be on the bilboa ferry on the 17/12 arriving 19/12 £147 one way then down to algiricas and over to morocco.

i intend to be in morocco over xmas where the missus will fly out and meet me for a week. then ill be heading in roughly the same direction as you but was hoping to get off the black top as much as possible (or i/ the bike can handle!!) i take it cost isnt the problem re shipping for yourselves but the time saved as by the time you add it up and include your air fares your paying a lot more than pompey bilbo and ride spain.

in saying that i have an old van and one of my thoughts is to put the bike in that and p2b then drive to south of spain and dump/store van till i get back from africa. if the van breaks on the way through spain thats where it will stay. if i go this route and its big enough and you havent sorted anything else out then by all means ill be happy to squeeze them in but it might be too much of a squeeze, its only a renault traffic and my xt and 2 others might not fit.

Andy

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
