Saddle up

I was supposed to leave a few days back but I'm bumping it to Nov 1st. I'm leaving from Vancouver BC on my dr650. Looks like I'll be riding the Baja around the same time as some of you, would be fun to have a crew to ride with.

I can almost taste the tequila........

Headed to South America... slowly

Hi folks:

I left August 24th; from Seattle, WA. I plan on catching the Stahlratte on January 31st or perhaps March 06.

I'm currently in Puerto Escondido and probably here for about a week.

My email is david AT davidparkinson.com and my website is David Parkinson.com: Welcome

It'd be fun to meet up with others on the road.

I will be leaving Colorado Saturday the 5th of November, crossing into Baja @ Tecate on the 7th and will be at a wedding near Cabo through the 12th. I will catch the ferry to mainland on the 13th and be on my way taking the Pacific Coast down to Chile and then over to Argentina. Then Shipping over to South Africa sometime in April-May.
I will be taking my time Staging (cooking internships) along the way. I am very flexible with where I am going can be persuaded to leave the coast for some rad adventures. Up for anything will be camping and staying at a few hostels as well.
Would be awesome to hook up with other riders who are easy going and are down for some good times and awesome riding.

Hit me up
Would also be down for a group get together as well.

Hey I just went through the Larado border crossing two weeks ago. There was no problems. I was advised by a couple of families to stay on the toll highway number 35 to avoid potental problems. Monterrey is very very busy and it was tuff to find a place to stay for the night. I went east to the coast and the roads were good for the most part. Watch out if you go to Tampico the muni. police are at every light and if you are riding in the left lane or middle lane you will most likely get a ticket. Sounds like it is there regular game there. The roads around Veracruz are quite slow and need of serious repair.

Good luck I am hanging in Belize for a few days, let me know if you want to put down some miles south!

Cheers Rob

I have made it to Puerto Escondido

I will be staying in Escondido for the next week or so taking spanish classes. Would be rad to cross into Guatemala, let me know if your going to be around this area or near the border around the same time. I have no timeline just living the dream, can slow down or speed up. Hit me up and let know. Fletch

Hi everyone I'm in eastern El Salvador currently. I will probably cross to Honduras in the next day or two before going further to Nicaragua, but I have a feeling all of you will pass me at some point further south.

I'm slowly updating my 'ride report' on Adv (but it's a couple months behind):

Have Camera, Will Travel: Canada to Argentina - ADVrider

Hope to see you on the road!

Heading South

Have made it to Nicaragua and will probably reach Costa Rica today. I will visit friends and relatives while waiting for others to catch up.

Shoot me a line if interested.

Am now in Costa Rica. I will probably be here about another week, before I move on to Panama.

Dude, it's Quinn.

Still in PV but heading south again starting monday. Plans got delayed. My problem not parents. Guess its my b-day to or row too. Kinda forgot. I'm getting to be an old man.

I hope to take in the ruins down south and maybe east before crossing. If you are around still let me know. Would enjoy a catch up again. The hostel in sayulita was fun! Stayed almost a week. Met lots of people! The guys with 4 bike stayed in hotel diamanté down the street. Never did meet them.

Check your e-mail Fletch! haha

I sent you one earlier tonight. I'm in Oaxaca. I could head there tomorrow but if I do I'd like to crash there for a couple days. Then I don't know how interested you are heading to Belize. It's a lot further but cool stuff to see on the way. I'm enjoying Mexico, but getting my fix. I am looking forward to a new country I think soon and more off-road adventures!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
