DoctoreT 19 Mar 2009 12:39

thank you mate :)

Alexlebrit 19 Mar 2009 20:41

Oh my reputation precedes me. It's true I do, and I'm in Europe, but I'm not the only one, a little while back I posted a who's got a teeny* engine thread and all manner of people came out ot the woodwork.

HERE it is, and HERE's something similar.

* you know what they say "Small engine, big ...."

hey man

hey doctoreT, I also run with the 125 gang with a derbi. whats ur steed? im confined the the lovely island of great britain thanks to the governments contempt for my riding quality (im going to kill the bloke who said putting your foot to the ground when cornering gets you more points), but loving it!

Wheres your base of operations? where av ya ridden? nice to meet you man! :welcome:

DoctoreT 20 Mar 2009 22:08

Hey, thanks :)

I'm from portugal and I ride my baby yamaha YZF R125 :D

i've only ride in portugal but i would love to go to england, altough I fear that's a bit too much for my 125 :(

tommysmithfromleeds 20 Mar 2009 23:44

nothing is too much for a 125 mate. they are the AK-47's of the motorcycle world. aside from the minsk that takes many indigenous peoples around afghanistan and vietnam, a chap on here rode his honda 125 from london to mongolia! theres another bloke whos done/doing africa on a c90.

as far as sports touring goes i read an article about two chaps on cbr125s who went from london to the south of france.

nothing is too much for anything on here as you will discover :thumbup1:

Hi tommy! How did you get on in Milan with a scooter?
Yes, you can tour on anything, only things to consider is carrying weight and the time factor.
'Google' postie bikes, there is a guy doing Sydney-London on one, he has quite a comical blog, I believe 2 guys are also doing a mega trip on a pair of them but I can't find the thread(anyone oblige?)
Are you going to Ripley tommy? hope to see you and Alex there, especially as alex is going to do some 'helmet art' for me!

Ready when you are :sneaky2:.

Maybe we should have one of those map thingies just for people with 125cc's or less? That way we could find people who know the joys of touring at 45mph.

tommysmithfromleeds 21 Mar 2009 12:37

hey dave, milan is going down at the end of easter hopefully. good point about weight.

yeah we should have our own maps alex lol, ones with blank spaces where motorways shoud be!

hopefully going to ripley though.

I hope that Tittex comes in black, just incase I wear my white helmet:cool4:!
Are you coming over then?

Alexlebrit 21 Mar 2009 17:51

Hopefully yeah, although maybe not on the Derbi, if I've sold it. But touch wood, things might be looking up on that, and maybe I'll make Ripley and a bit of a tour of the UK this year's "big trip" and then go for something less exotic next year.

And who needs black Tittex, I just use white and then colour it in with pen ;)

I love the thought of special 125 or less maps where the motorways don't exist, just a blank space with "here be dragons" written in it.

tommysmithfromleeds 21 Mar 2009 19:00

that would be sooo coool

that would be really cool. i have often though of using navigation via the stars and taking the bear minimum, easy rider style. although this would only feel special in the wilderness. i thinks theres a touch of columbus in us all.

Anyone on any of the Magelli's bikes? They are soon to come to the US, but in 250cc size, but I know that they currently are in 125cc size in Europe.

Hi from Barcelona!

anyone here still with a 125?
I'm the proud ower of a suzuki van van, and planning to make a long trip (1 or 2 months) around Spain, I hope to make part of it off-road. Starting in 2-3 weeks ('cause I still have to build the allu boxes, and visit a friend of mine in the canary islands)
Initial plan was to go south, if I could till Mali (yes with the van van :mchappy:) but now I should do it alone, so...changed plans. It's hard to find buddies to travel with 125...

If anyone's on the road and sees a small vanvi with allu boxes around spain it's me! just say hello
