London to Cape Town 2003

Is there anyone who wants to ride London to Cape Town leaving June 2003? I need a travelling companion either male of female. I am 49 (just),very relaxed, woman.

Hi there, just joined this site and am considering a trip sometime 2003 on my Africa Twin. I am male aged 46, with a few other trips under my belt but this one will be the biggest and best yet. How you plan to travel?

Hi Paddy
I am a complete novice at MC touring, have hardly ridden in the last year and would buy a bike later on, depending on what was suitable.

I could not leave before June next year. I also have a new lover who might make demands on me not to go if we are still together, but keep in touch and let me know your ideas. Cheers,
Jude

An afterthought. I have a Yamaha Fazer at the moment and do plan to ride this year!Jude

Good to hear from you and your honesty. I'm still single and considering whatv to do. Cool you have a bike. !!!
I am keen to do the trip but think there is a lot of planning to do beforehand. A soulmate would be brilliant.
Go for it???

Jude,
I am planning the same trip but was hoping to depart in Nov this year solo if necessary. If this delays I would be interested in the later start date you mentioned. My previous "buddy" is getting married so is grounded. So far I have only been down as far as Senegal. Having worked in West Africa I have contacts for most of the way down.
Were you planning to stick to west coast or cut over to Kenya. I am 38 years old by the way.

regards
Ian

Hi! I plan to "do" the Africa route about November 2003 as part of my rtw trip. Don't know how much research you've done, but June may not be the best of times to hit Africa - Sahara heat and sub-Sahara rains. November is a better bet. I say, swing with the seasons and stay cool. See ya on the road. Oh, I'm 56! Welcome to the Honest Bikers Club, a subset, or maybe the whole set, at HU!

Dear Ian
I am very inexperienced and envy your west african contacts and knowledge. It's a pity you are going this year or I would try to mucscle in and join you. I'll probably head off November 2003.
Cheers, Jude
