London - Morocco - April 6th to 29th

I'm on a 650GS Dakar, and leaving on the Plymouth - Santander ferry on April the 6th, and heading down to Algeciras for Ceuta - then my route might look something like Fez, Azrou, Er Rachidia, Todra, Dades, Ouezerzate, Zagora, Mhamid, Marrakesh, Imlil, Agadir, Essouria, Ceuta, Algeciras, Santander and then the ferry back on the 29th. Not sure exactly where I'll be when - I'll be taking each day as it comes - just wondering if there is anyone else planning on being on the same road at this time? I'm happy enough travelling on my own, but always nice to meet other like minded folks along the way. Also don't mind possibly teaming up for a few days either...

I am leaving Portsmouth April 4 and should be in the Fes-Azrou area for a while. When you are in the area send me a text on 0044 7976 683999.

So how did you get on after we parted company? Did you make Bikershome?

Hi Tim, yes after we went our separate ways I made it down to the Hotel Jurassic for that evening - and yes I can definitely recommend it too. Then I changed my mind and the next day I went on a detour to Erg Chebbi - good fun riding the piste to the dunes - and then on to the bottom of Todra. I rode up the gorge the following day and then across the piste to the top of Dades and then down and pushed on to Bikers Home for that evening - a long days riding - but it was well worth pushing through. Bikers Home hospitality is awesome, and luckily I wasn't a day later as Peter his wife and two other couples were off on a desert trip for a few days. Then as I was still having a cash crisis I decided to cut my plans short so made a reasonably quick trip back to Santander - unfortunately another wet ride across Spain. Tim, it was great meeting you, and I look forward to seeing you again at the HU meet in July.

Noel.
