In need of like minded people

HI Everyone,
After riding an epic journey from the UK to South Africa, I find myself very quickly back in reality as I fly home a little dejected as the trip is now over!!

I'm no longer travelling, sold my trusty steed (new owner sadly busted the oil pipe within 2 days), left my other half to start another journey and won't see him for a long while, the prospect of finding a job and talking to people who just don't have the same understanding...

anyone in or around Brisbane who would exchange some similiar stories?
Amy

Wink

Amy,
It sounds like you are not aware of this meeting and the people involved - sure to be someone there you can talk to?!

You're not alone Amy, I'm sure there are many other people on here who would agree that it is pretty rubbish being back home after a long trip.

But hey, there's always the next big trip to get planning because frankly, I don't think just the one will suffice...!

Hi Amy,

I've got some friends in Brisbane who are bikers and could hook up with, or alternatively wait until xmas and i'll be in Melbourne for min 4 years.

I've done some travelling (not to the extent you have like..but well..im trying!) and dont mind spilling the beans around a camp fire in the middle of the bush somewhere?

Cool

Hey Amy,
The oil pipe was fixed for R40-00 and Trevor tells me the beast is purring again. I'ts quiet here without you guys, plan another trip!!!!!! Maybe Mongolia or Alaska...one day we will cross paths again as the boys talk fondly of you guys and it would be great to catch up. Maybe Benjamin will be on his own scoot by then.....This has nothing to do with integrating back with "normal" society so hope that all goes well.

Half brothers are always welcomed!!

Things aren't so bad being back as I'm been very busy! A few of the big newspapers where I live have contacted me wanting interviews about our trip! So at least it makes you feel like you've achieved something special and although alot of my friends don't ride bikes, they have been fantastic to talk to.

Martin
Lovely to hear from you! thanks again for everything, you surely are a great person to have met and really made life easier for Rob and I in South Africa. Also so glad to hear that my baby got fixed and is purring like a kitten!!!! Such a trusty steed...

Mike
Looking forward to meeting my half brother!! Let us know when you get back in January...we can go cruising for a bruising!

Ride safe guys
Always Amy

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
