I know there is probably no one in the vicinity that wants to ride south through Brazil but thought what the heck...Why not try again.

So, if you are nearby and fancy company, I am headed south from Puerto la Cruz Venezuela, carburetors willing, on the 1st of June.

You can send me an email or reply here.
Cheers
Susan

Thanks Sal Car for the Belem contact. How was your trip north?

It doesn't look like I will be on the road until the first at the earliest. I do have a week and 1/2 to go at my job, plus my carbs are acting up. But I do plan on crossing at Santa Elena north of Boa Vista. if you are in the Puerto la Cruz neighborhood in the next couple of weeks, drop me a line and we can meet up. It would good to hear your stories.

Cheers
Susan

I have to be out of Colombia June 10, probably cross June 9
From there maybe 2 days in Merida and quick time through Venezuela, down to Manaus and check out the boat traffic to Belem.

Maybe catch up to you (or join you on the side of the road to scratch head and look at carbs) just joking!

Big J

Actually, some of my favorite biking partners I've met along the side of the road. Who knows we just may end up meeting up although I hope I am on the road sooner.
Cheers and enjoy Merida it is one of the prettiest places in Venezuela.

Hi Susan and Big J,
I´m thinking about riding north with SalCar all the way to Colombia and back. I need to be in Belem by June 22nd the latest (maybe put the bike on a boat and take a plane from manaus).
Can both of you send me an email at alexreisxt600 at hotmail dot com so we can communicate faster and see if we can ride together? i might be able to go with you all the way to Fortaleza if you decide to do the Brasilian coast.
all the best,
Alex do Belem

Susan and Big J,
I'm now in Manaus and I want to see if I can join you in order to go to Sao Paulo. I'm a friend of Alex-Belem and yesterday I talked a little with Salcar. I sent an e-mail to Susan today sending my telephone number, msn and skype, so pls, send news. Inform when do you expect to be arriving at Manaus, if you need something from Boa Vista, pls inform, because I've some friends there that can assist you. Rgds.

Hi guys

I´m finding it exceptionally difficult to leave well anywhere in Colombia, I hope Venezuela lightens up as some of these departures are real heartbreakers. Just hope I don´t meet any girls or I might never get there...

In Cali tonight, I wasn´t going to come this far south but Cali has been a dream for so long. I hope my salsa is up to it.

Seriously, I don´t know my date for Manaus. I will update this thread and have emailed you a copy of this post. Assume 3 1/2 weeks but it is not worth waiting for me as I´m too far away to be reliable.

Hopefully we´ll cross paths. Stay safe and you´ll have to share photos at some stage.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
