Pakistan Bikers Club teams would be on the KKH this summer and you can join them. All chapters of PBC would be glad to facilitate your trip. When in Lahore give me a call and we might arrange a meeting with the local bikers over a cup of tea.
Last year a group of European members of HU did the same sharing cost while crossing China and might be able to advise you with experience.

Cheers

Hi Omar,

Sounds great...:thumbup1: we could be(we hope) at KKH at around mid July 2012 and to meet up the club would be fantastic.Because Lohore is on our route, once we come there I'll drop you a line for a cup of tea.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon, we're headed East in a week's time. We'll be visiting a friend in Sofia (who doesn't know anything about bikes). Do you perhaps have a tip on getting new tyres there for my Honda Africa Twin? ;-)

Sounds great Simon, we'll give you a call! And hopefully you have not departed for your trip by then! We'll expect to arrive in Bulgaria end of March.

Tyre sizes are right. Thanks for the complements on the AT!

Just for info.... They have started lowering the Attabad lake level by deepening the spillway:

Just an update on planning,

so far we have accumulated 4 or 5 fairly certains, and a potential total of up to 10, although I don't think a group any larger would work well,

dates: entering China 4 5 or 6th September.

We narrowed the choice down to two agencies and close to finalising, so just investigating the nitty gritty- how we pay, how to sort out paperwork

Please though still pm me if anyone else is interested in case people drop out?

Thanks

Fern

p.s glad to hear about the lake shrinking. :-)

Hi Fern,

I am interested in joining the group yo are arranging. I will be travelling together with my friend (two mtocycles) from Poland to Brasil. We plan to get into China from Kyrgyzstan, then Pakistan KKH north to south and finally get to India from Pakistan.

Further on we would like to make a route from India to Nepal, Tibet to Laos.

We plan to enter China from Kyrgyzstan arround 5th os September.

Let me know if that would be suitable for you.

@Fern : I recently sent you a private message and an email. Since I got no response, I ask you whether you received. I'm also interested to join your group ..
regards,

Haven't got the time to read every post in this thread, but I'm looking at going from pakistan thru china to Kyrgyzstan in mid May 2012 and then west into the stans.

Anyone else looking to go in this direction at this time give me a hoy!

Cheers,
Drew

Rone and Jastrap you should have Pm :-)

Hi fern, would I be right in thinking that for your planned route you can get all the visas on the road? Are there any you have to get in your own country?
Cheers
Dayne

Here is the thread about getting Pakistan Visas at border. It is usually a big no no, only issued in UK, but situation changes.

Otherwise, not sure, I think the stans are all ok on the hoof, dunno about China as I've got a multi entry business one through work
