Crossing into Mexico next week

Aiming to cross the US border into Mexico at Naco or Nogales next week (round about 20 August or so), and then riding down the left coast, and on through Central America over the coming four to six weeks. Done 4,000 miles since leaving Anchorage. Riding a Ulysses, no fixed routes or plans, so pretty flexible.

Happy to meet up with anybody heading south at the same time.

I'll even meet you outside the city and guide you in. I will be on holiday from Sept 17th to Sept 30th but any time before or after that is fine. I'd like to get a good look at a Ulyses as I've never really seen one.

Crossing the Mexican border at Reynosa in Texas about the 24th of Aug., headed towards Veracruz and eventually Honduras.

Heading South around September 9 with the son. Destination south. We should be in Mexico about a month or so then onwards.

Sounds good. Are you crossing at San Diego? I could probably get across that way, or maybe we could meet up at Mazatlan. Do you have an ETA for Maz?

Hi Alastair,

I sent you an e-mail, but incase you didnt recieve it. I plan to be in Mazatlan on around the 10th to the 12th ish, but after that am hanging around in Puerto Vallarta with my girlfriend for a bit, so in terms of riding it would be cool if we could meet up at the top end of Baja to ride down if at all possible.

Sorry to be slow getting back to you - but would happily take you up on your offer if it still stands, and as long as it includes the whole escort-into-town thing! I'm in Puerto Vallarta at the moment, pondering my next move. Would be in Mexico City in three or four days, I guess - maybe Sunday or Monday (lost track of dates, I'm afraid, but am pretty sure today is Thursday!) if I hear from you in the next day or two. If not, I'll keep hugging the left coast to avoid the after-effects of Dean.
