Still in Erzurum

Still captive of the genie of Visa's.
For those that originally read my trip date November 09 of course I am on the road now, I am in Erz.. waiting but still am optimistic about making it to OZ/NZ in March thru Iran !
I have some advice for anyone planning to take this route regarding an Iran Visa.
Get it in London.
No matter what they say. Get it in London.
Apply a month before you expect to leave.
If you are determined to do it your way and apply thru iranianvisa.com as insisted by the Embassy in Istanbul, do not leave town without it. Call Hamid every day, but do not leave without it.
Erzurum is littered with anxious frustrated bikers that applied thru iranianvisa.com.
Heed my advice !

On the road in India

Well I made it, Turkey was great, Iran was interesting, Pakistan challenging, and now India where I have overheating problems with the 650 Dakar ! Despite a complete water pump replacement before I left the UK I now have a red light issue !
Cannot find anything remotely connected to bmw in India......anyone got any suggestions ?
Still looking for a way out to Thailand as well !
Dak

Freighting your bike (by sea or by air) from India to Thailand may not all in all be the easiest thing to do, but still it´s fully do-able, and probably save you an enormous hassle of trying to get anything going through Burma. And there are no international passenger-ferryboats going across the Bay of Bengal, either.

check your radiator cap and fluid levels.

Stuart,
Sorry you are having problems with your bike.
The leak sounds like a seal leaking or the bearing in the pump is giving up.
Make sure you have the proper fluid mix in the radiator because it is actually the lubricant and also provides you the freeze protection you need.

Can also get and send you parts if you need
