Currently in Easten Turkey heading North West from Van. Very hot on low lands (43 at times) and lots of roadworks going on throughout Turkey. Hitting Black Sea coast tomorrow but forecast is showing heavy rain - anyone in the Trazon/Ordu area at the moment ? Fantastic country though - almost everyone is very welcoming and friendly.

Hi BoRaBoRa

Coming through Bandirma tomorrow late morning/midday time (Tuesday 7th). look out for about 11 bikes (mostly 1200 GS) on the main road 200. We are leaving Iznik at around 7am and heading for Alexandroupoli in Greece - then on our way back to UK

Taking the ferry today from North Shields to Ijmuiden and then in a straight line across Europe to Istanbul over the next 5 days.

Unfortunately can't get a carnet - it's a long story, see Carnets and the Natwest Bank in Trip Paperwork - so the journey over the next 6 weeks will now be to Turkey, hopefully Syria, ? Lebanon/Jordan. Wherever!

I'll keep this updated with my progress.

Currently in southern Hungary planning to enter Serbia tomorrow. May hang around Belgrade for a day, but heading straight through Bulgaria after that towards Istanbul. 2 of us on 2 bikes taking it fairly easy. Will spend a little while in Turkey before heading onward to Iran. PM me if any of this sounds like youd be near us. I know what you mean about the weather in Germany

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
