Switzerland to Capetown starting Nov 13

Hi there,

Im planning a 3 month biketrip from Bern to Capetown.
Im dutch and im riding a KTM 990 Adventure. I want to leave around November and arive in SA end of Jan.
I want to ride through the east side...tun,lybia,egypt,ethiopia and further.

Anyone interested in joining a part of the trip?
Its more fun sharing the experience with like minded people and safer.

Ciao. Jaap.

Hi there,
I would be interested, but only if you could delay your trip a bit. I mean i could be ready arround feb/march 2014. Btw I have got big ktm as well, but thinkin about smaller bike for this kind of trip. Anyway, let me know what you think about beginning of 2014.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Jaap,

I might be interested in this trip. What sort of route are you thinking of taking, the countries you expect to be passing through?

Hallo Thomas,

Ich spreche Deutch. Wohne seit 3 jahre in die nahe von Bern aber schreib selber lieber in english

I was trying to get around the "not so stable" countries but there is no ferry to alexandria for passengers, or i havent found it yet.
So Tunesia Lybia Egypt and down would be my idea
From other people i was following up on their blogs i heard they had no problems and a good time in Lybia...except for the lybian-egyptian border which is no fun..

On the other hand..its all part of the trip and experience and how you deal with it no?

Schreib mir in Deutch was deine idee ist

Gruss

Hi,

I'm looking to leave UK/Europe around August (Or beg of Sept subject to getting the Visas sorted!) with a rough intention of being in Cape Town by Christmas. Looking to take an adventurised KTM690. If that fits in with any other plans, please do take contact! East or West, but likely east route.

Cheers

Hi Jaybee..

Im planning on arriving in Capetown around new years so maybe we'll be on the same route.
My preference is still riding the eastcoast but gonna decide this week and arranging visas in july.

Lets stay in touch.
