so in some months ( thats india time, right)
im gonna set out from india westward, counter BMW traffic ,
go west, via pakistan-iran-turkey...
will mount a "local" laid back sort of bike, enfield or that japanese brand.first will tour india and get to know the bike and then "chelo pakistan".

who's coming with me ?

did quite extensive research over the last year, but anything can happen, and will appreciate whatever info and advice.

issues that will still bother me :
1 - carnet for nepal baught bike ( have no motor-association back home ,panama )
2 - iran/pakistan visas and escorts
3 - road conditions
4 - good food hole-in-the-wall spots

gonna be in india late this week (leaving nepal once indian visa is sorted), for 3-4 weeks then heading same direction (pak, iran, turkey). pm me if this time-frame works.

India Feb '10 - ???
 

Should be getting my Indian visa tomorrow, expect to show up in Delhi or Mumbai in early February. Plan to get an Enfield and tool around a couple months, then head West (probably with a more reliable and Nepalese-purchased machine) if I can get Pak/Iranian visas; otherwise will fly to SE Asia and rent goofy 125-250's in different countries for a while. Sorry to be so vague, but that's as much planning as I'm capable of beforehand (other than sore arms from shots today, and still trying to contact the Canadians RE carnet stuff just in case the visas really do work out). Could be that your "some months" and my "when and if I get visas" will coincide. :confused1:

man, this is india , nothing is sure, "sab kuch milega" - all is possible.
i'll be around, just keep in touch, possible via email.

myself am begining to believe its possible to make it without carnets, many report so about pakistan,iran etc..
