India - Myanmar - China - Thailand

Hi,
we are currently staying in Delhi. We are planning to go through Myanmar and China to Thailand. It is possible with a guide now. It involves a lot of paperwork (visa, inner-line permit, bookings)and of course money. Therefore we are seeking fellow travellers who want to join us on this exciting and unique trip. We plan to start the trip beginning of January 2004. Details can be given in private email.

Hi, I just saw your thread from 2004! It is now 2009, but we are planning a trip in 2012 from Cape Town up through Africa, then east through India, Myanmar, Thailand ending in Singapore. I am interested to hear how the Myanman section went, ie can one get across the country, and also the rest of the trip to Thailand.
Love to hear from you if you still read the HUBB

You can't ride through Myanmar as far as I'm aware, at least not when I was travelling last year.

For Vietnam, I'm pretty sure you are restricted to only bringing in bikes of a maximum 175cc too.

I'm guessing it was just wishful thinking by the original poster - I've been trying to get a bike into Burma for the last 35 years to no avail, although I have heard stories of people apparently transiting through the north eastern part of Myanmar along grey (disputed) border areas.
