In Baja now, riding south!

Just checking if there's anyone close to me that would like to share the road for a day or two. I'm in Ensenada right now, leaving for El Rosario tmr am. Will be in Baja for another 5-6 days, than shipping bike in La Paz to mainland and heading to Mexico City. From there moving down to Guatemala, El salvador, Nicaragua…
My plans are wide open so I can easily adjust.
You can probably reach me faster through my blog, since I'm not checking in here daily. My blog Moto Trip South - Home

Smile Missed in Baja.

Frano, Rick here. Sorry we couldn't get together for our ride down to La Paz. We had a GREAT time. Perfect weather. I managed to "cut" a rear Avon Distanzia that couldn't be plugged but got lucky with a junk yard/garage at the Bahia de Los Angeles turnoff (only about 1.5 miles away) that had a crashed BMW with a new Metzler Tourance on the back that I talked them out of (for a LOT of money) . Other than that, it was an excellent ride. I will follow along on your blog. Good Luck and Safe Riding!

Frano

Probably heading down from Mexico City to Chiapas for a week of riding, leaving Saturday 12th. If that suits your schedule and want to make that trip, let me know.

Frano,

Sorry we weren't able to meet up while you were passing thru San Diego recently! I looked forward to sharing a coffee with you and discussing your route.

Sounds like you had a few problems with your KLR (resolved by Eagle Mike) and maybe a touch of the flu (I hope you're feeling better).

Will be watching your progress via your site.

Be safe, have fun, take photos!

Dan

Post The La Paz ferry site...

I trust you know about the La Paz Ferry to Mazatlan or Topolobampo (NE of La Paz)? To Mazatlàn it leaves in the afternoon on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. It's about $250US or $3,200pesos but with room (recommended) add $511 pesos w/sink or $790 pesos w/bath. Food included. Rooms get reserved.

Web site: .:: Baja Ferries Website ::. english translation flag never works.

Sorry couldn't join you as Dakar has been in the shop some time, ready tomorrow with progressive fork springs new Anakee III's etc. Sure wonder how those slick Anakee III's will be in sand!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
