Is Melbourne the end of your trip or are you then heading North?

Perth to Melbourne

Bugger!!

I'm doing the same trip. Leaving for Perth tomorrow and will be in Perth on the 11th. Heading back the 12th and home by the 18th. Should be a good trip - providing the cyclone disappears. Presently just off the southwest coast, but then what's a journay without a little adventure???

I'm in Wodonga, a little north of Melbourne, but if I can help in any way give me a shout and we'll see what we can do. Need a bed I'm sure we could sort it if required.

If I don't see you / hear from you have a fantastic trip - be safe

Simpson and beyond

Freddy I crossed the Simpson, West to East in a 4x4 around 3 years ago and you will certainly not be lonely. As a matter of fact the biggest danger is a head on collision at the top of the dunes with a vehicle coming the other way. Get off the French Line (the main track) as soon as you can and get on the Rig Road, a lesser used route. I get out in 4x4 to do the dirt stuff and a CBR1100XX for the black top. I was in Surrey, Vancouver in September, is this the Surrey you are from? Give me some warning when you head this way and we will catch up and empty a few cans.

hi chaps , sorry to miss you rian ,have a good run over the nularbor, a lot of people don,t like that run but i love it , probably for all the reasons lots of other people don,t , like wide empty open spaces and no one else around, as i come from the surrey next to london (loxsmith) so not the one in canada, if i manage to get up to your next of the woods loxsmith i will drop you a line in advance , cheers for the info on the simpsom, laters fredddo

Thumbs up Perth to Melbourne

Freddy

I'm now in Perth (11th Jan today). The chap I rode across (NSW to Perth) with has had a catalogue of problems and putting it simply the bike he has will not make it back, so if you are still in Perth get a note back here asap as I will be heading back in the next couple of days - circumstances permitting.

Let me know - thanks

add to this the fact that I too come from a little place the other side of the world - yorkshire originally, but the last ten years in Bedford!! So we'd have something else in common too.

be safe out there!!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
